About a year ago, my skin happened to be displaying some signs of imbalance in the form of acne and inflammation. My skin tends to be an excellent barometer of stress, dietary deficiencies, impending doom, and illness. Luckily, I happened to be speaking with someone who had just finished two weeks at the Ann Wigmore institute in Puerto Rico. We were talking about all the different applications of wheatgrass applied topically—you can safely apply it everywhere except the ears. So I went home to experiment.

Our skin is the largest detoxification organ in the body. So whatever imbalances were going on within my body were being purged directly through my skin via my body’s natural detoxification processes. But having an angry, red, and inflamed face is no one’s idea of a good time. So I thought to myself, it would be wise to heal this imbalance from two angles—inside and out. Logic.

In addition to my daily shot of wheatgrass, I started applying gobs of healing wheatgrass juice to my face—fresh, frozen, whatever I could get my hands on. But there was one caveat. I turned into a dribbling Wicked Witch of the West every evening, much to the chagrin of both my girlfriend and my favorite tee shirts. A verdant Midas, everything I touched turned bright chlorophyll green, including ALL the bathroom towels. It was a mess, and I really don’t enjoy doing that much laundry. It just wasn’t sustainable.

But as I was cleaning out a rarely used drawer a week later, I found an empty SuperShot rolling around in the deep recesses and I remembered—Dr. Wheatgrass! In all of my travels, stress, and busyness, I completely forgot about one of my favorite products! I ditched the Jolly Green Giant glow and started spritzing my face with Dr. Wheatgrass’s Skin Recovery Spray regularly throughout the day. Not only did it speed up the healing of my inflamed, purging skin, but it was also quite refreshing and invigorating! Perfect for these muggy summer days! Wheatgrass can help us heal systemically from the inside-out, but it can do a lot of good from the outside-in, too. Designed by a real doctor, Dr. Wheatgrass’s products go on clear and are especially ideal for those with dry, sensitive, or inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, acne.

In addition to the Antioxidant Skin Recovery Spray, we are proud to offer a few other fantastic products from the Dr. Wheatgrass line to help you heal, both outside and in. And unless you want to become a glowing green monster like I was, it’s the best way to nourish your skin with its daily shot.

To your good health!
